Fitted Bedrooms: Luxury built-in wardrobes in Birmingham, Birmingham

Fitted Bedrooms, made for Birmingham homes.

( Planning your room )

A beautifully made wardrobe should feel as considered with the doors open as it does closed. Hanging space, drawers and shelves need to suit your belongings, while the outside should sit comfortably against the room’s walls, ceiling and existing features. Posh Design creates bespoke built-in wardrobes in Birmingham, designed and made through our own studio and workshop.

Make the wardrobe belong to the room

Consider the entire elevation before choosing a door. Ceiling height, cornice, skirting, alcoves and nearby windows affect the proportions. A wall of tall doors can look calm when the divisions are intentional; small leftover panels and awkward junctions can make the same space feel fragmented.

A survey needs to account for the room as it is, including out-of-square corners and variations in walls or floors. The finished furniture should resolve those junctions while leaving access to anything that needs maintenance.

Specify an interior with a purpose

The most luxurious interior is often the one that makes getting dressed simple. Place frequently used clothing within comfortable reach. Give longer garments sufficient height, and choose shelf spacing for the items stored there rather than accepting one repeated interval.

  • Balance hanging, drawers and shelves against an inventory of your belongings.
  • Check the depth and access needed for shoes, bags and larger folded items.
  • Decide whether mirrors or a dressing surface belong inside the run or elsewhere.
  • Discuss lighting, switches and service access before manufacture.

Where two people share the wardrobe, give each side the arrangement it needs. Matching outer doors do not require identical storage behind them.

Choose the exterior as furniture, not a swatch

A painted frame-and-panel door, a simpler slab front or a timber finish will each change the character of the bedroom. Look at the full door proportions and the handle together. Test how the handle feels, particularly on heavier doors or frequently used drawers.

View finish samples alongside existing flooring, upholstery and wall colour. If the wardrobe fills a large part of the room, a restrained finish can let another feature lead. A richer colour or material can work when the surrounding room gives it space.

Resolve scope before comparing prices

The length of the run is only one part of the cost. Height, depth, door construction, finish, internals, lighting and fitting details all matter. Ask each proposal to identify what is included and how the furniture meets the room.

For a free design visit, bring photographs and a list of storage priorities. Mention existing wardrobes to remove, furniture to retain and any decorating or flooring work planned. Those details help shape a complete brief for your Birmingham home.

Yes, an alcove can be a useful position for fitted storage. Its depth, width and surrounding features determine what the interior can accommodate. Hanging space needs different dimensions from shelving.

Full-height cabinetry can provide additional occasional storage and a more continuous elevation. Consider access to the upper section, the ceiling detail and whether that extra storage is useful for you.

It depends on dimensions, construction, door finish, internal fittings and installation requirements. Photographs and measurements support the first conversation; a defined design and specification allow a meaningful quotation.
