Check what is settled before manufacture
A kitchen should not go into production while essential dimensions or specifications are still assumptions. Work through the final layout, door construction, finish, handles, internals and appliance information. If the room is being rebuilt, agree how and when its finished dimensions will be checked.
- Confirm the current drawing revision and the dimensions it is based on.
- Review visible panels, fillers, plinths and the junction with walls and ceiling.
- Identify specialist elements that need separate measurement, fabrication or delivery.
- Record any changes to the specification and their effect on price or timing.
The clearer this information is, the easier it is to coordinate the workshop with the site.

Manufacture is one part of the programme. The room needs to be ready, access needs to be practical and the fitting sequence needs to account for worktops and other specialist work. Ask who checks those arrangements and who is your contact when a question arises.
If you have your own builder, discuss the boundaries of their work and the kitchen installation. Services, plastering, flooring and decoration can affect the furniture. Agree responsibilities rather than assuming that “fitted” includes every task in the room.

Bespoke cabinetry can be developed around the room, subject to the dimensions and requirements of fittings and appliances. Discuss the awkward areas early so the drawings resolve them before manufacture.
